21 day fast – week 3

So we are coming to the end of our first 21 day fast tomorrow.  Some City Bowlers are still continuing because they started late or they are fasting for a longer period of time.  This was one of the best things I have done for a long time – it helped me gain perspective on so many things.   I don’t think I have ever done a fast properly before this one.  Next 21 day fast will be Sunday 6 Jan 2019 to Sunday 27 Jan 2019.  We will do shorter fasts corporately during the balance of 2018.  These verses continue to be very dear to me prior to, during the fast and I am sure beyond:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-19

“Rejoice in the Lord always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.  Do not quench the Spirit. ”

One of our leaders reminded me tonight that our ultimate objective as Christians and the body of Christ, as we contemplate His glory, is to be transformed into the image of Christ with more glory (2 Cor 3:18).

Thank you for joining in on the fast.  You have been a real example to us.  Early on we were encouraged to continue and not give up because of all of you (your perseverance was palpable).

If you were on a liquid fast, please re-introduce solid food slowly.  Fruit and raw salads would be a good re-introduction initially.
